USED D'Angelico / New Yorker Modified Sunburst [12]
We’ve just received a New Yorker model modified with a humbucker.
The New Yorker is a signature Di Angelico model featuring gorgeous inlays that exude a sense of luxury.
The body features a Sitka spruce top with laminated flamed maple sides and back, a maple neck, and a jet-black ebony fingerboard. The mother-of-pearl split-block inlays are striking, though the 17th fret has been painted black along with the inlay.
While a floating pickup mounted at the neck end is standard, a humbucker pickup cavity has been added, and a Seymour Duncan SH-1n (59 Model) is escutcheon-mounted.
The controls have also been modified: the pickguard with the volume knob has been removed, and volume and tone controls have been added to the top of the body.
The full-size humbucker delivers a richer, more characterful sound than a mini humbucker, allowing you to enjoy a mellow jazz tone.
The topcoat on the headstock has been stripped to reveal a matte finish, and the entire neck and body have been relacquered.
The tuners have been replaced with Schaller models. There are numerous scratches and dents scattered throughout the instrument, and the hardware shows some tarnish.
While it shows some signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
The original pickups and pickguard are missing.
