The TransAcoustic Guitar was launched in 2016 as a new acoustic guitar equipped with Yamaha's proprietary TransAcoustic technology, which uses the same method as acoustic instruments for pronunciation, while still having functions using digital technology.
Its greatest feature is the ability to play with effects applied using only the guitar itself, without the use of an amplifier or speakers. Vibrations of the strings and other parts are converted into electrical signals, processed, and transmitted to an "actuator" inside the guitar, which vibrates the body of the guitar to create the effect sound.
The actual sound and the effect sound are combined and resonate throughout the entire guitar, resulting in a natural and comfortable sound. The TAG3 C has been well received as an acoustic guitar that offers an unprecedented playing experience.

The "TAG3 C" is the second generation model that further evolves the functions of the conventional Trans-Acoustic Guitar.
The guitar body is a dreadnought style that responds to powerful strokes, and is a cutaway model with a solid Sitka spruce (front board) and solid mahogany (side and back boards).
One more improved actuator (two actuators in total) provides higher quality effect sounds than ever before and a new "looper" function.
Three types of effects are available: reverb, chorus, and delay. The "looper" function allows players to record and loop their performances on the unit, and since they can also play while layering phrases, it will inspire players to be creative. The dedicated "TAG Remote" application can also be used to adjust the sound quality of effects.
The TAG3 C is also equipped with a new Bluetooth function that allows audio playback from the device when connected to a smart device. The "TAG3 C" enables the creative process of "listening," "playing," and "creating" music with a single guitar.
