USED Thumb / GJ-400B BLK Thumb 1970s Acoustic Guitar [08]

This is a 1970s GJ-400B "Big Thumb" model manufactured by Terada Gakki.

An acoustic guitar manufactured by Terada Gakki and sold under the Teihatsu brand from the 1970s through the 1980s. It features an Everly Brothers-style double pickguard, a spruce top, maple sides and back, a nato neck, X-bracing, a star-shaped pickguard, and original tuners.

This is a charming instrument made by Terada Gakki, a company known for manufacturing OEM guitars for many brands. It has a great tone and comes highly recommended.

An endpin jack has been retrofitted. There are signs of wear (including discoloration, a cracked heel cap, paint cracks around the endpin jack, dents and paint chips along the body’s outer edge, minor scratches and scuff marks, wear and playing lines, picking marks, buckle marks, and tarnish, pitting, or rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage).

Set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, and string height adjustment). The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions (tightening and loosening); it has been tested to operate up to ±60° and is in good working order.
