This unit is an improved version of the original Rx Overdriver, which was released in 1995. Going even further back, that original was inspired by the British-made Colorsound Overdriver from the 1970s.
The Colorsound Overdriver was a high-gain model that used NPN silicon transistors, and many guitarists—including Jeff Beck—used it for live performances and recordings at the time.
While there are signs of use such as scratches and dirt, there are currently no operational issues.
